Research & Fund Technology-Based Initiatives

The Child Protection Technology Foundation (CPTF) recognizes that children are our most valuable resource and works towards promoting social welfare by protecting children from sexual abuse and exposure to age-inappropriate online content. CPTF will provide grant funding to nonprofit organizations and research projects as well as conduct research into new online technologies that are being developed and made available to the public. These technologies will focus on child protection on the internet. CPTF will fund appropriate programs, software applications, and services that will improve the reporting of child pornography offenders while providing parents with tools to protect their children from age-inappropriate online content. In addition, grants will be made to organizations that provide assistance to victims of child sexual abuse. Grant information will be available Spring 2009.

Education of Parents

The Child Protection Technology Foundation (CPTF) understands that parents are concerned about what their children are exposed to on the internet, but that they may not have the technological expertise they think is required to protect their children. CPFT will educate parents on how to protect children while they are on the internet. Additionally, CPFT will provide free and easy-to-use resources that inform parents how to protect children from viewing age-inappropriate material on the computer and other electronic devices. Through the Child Protection Technology Foundation website, parents will be provided with links as well as other resources to connect them with specific educational services. Parents, or other individuals, will be able to learn about various methods to protect children from age-inappropriate online content. The Parental Education Resources program is scheduled to launch in the fall of 2008. If you have a resource you would like to contribute to the program, please contact CPTF.
